Financing Approval and Stips Explained

Financing approval can be final or conditional. If lender stipulations (stips) are outstanding, delivery timing can change.

Approval vs conditional approval

  • Financing approval: lender confirms terms and conditions are met.
  • Conditional approval: lender still requires additional documents.
  • Stips: required documents such as proof of income or insurance confirmation.

What buyers should check before delivery day

  • Ask whether all stips are complete and accepted by the lender.
  • Confirm if any additional signatures or proofs are still needed.
  • Ask your dealership when final funding confirmation is expected.
